My Wall of '' IMAGE - NATION ''

Before I introduce my video. I would like to talk about what is the main aim of this video. Basically , we need to create a solution to a problem. as i have mentioned in my earlier posts . what problems do we face as humans. are these problems  the same to everyone? who creates problems? are we the ones doing it ? is it the same with animals and other living creatures? 

In my opinion the answer to all those questions will be yes!
The root cause of any problem is us . however not all .

A problem occurs when two things dont concide.
For instance: one group of human against the others - racism , protest .
       
There are alot of problems in the world, and ofcourse will have solutions to it aswell.  but its totally upto us to decide whether to consider them or not.

so if solutions were created by us ? source of problems could be us too.


 Lets see what my problem is and what is my solution ?

Basically ,
where im standing , at this point i dont see the world getting any better. With the  higher development of technology the world is becoming more powerful in different ways.   The more problems are created the more solutions they come up with .

so my problem is , racism and sub problems related to it such as bullying, killing  , aggression.


 Racism may be defined as the hatred of one person by another.
or the belief that another person is less than a human because of several reasons such as the skin colour, customs, language, cultural differences , place of birth and so on .
 racism has influenced killings, wars and a few to mention.

How can we get rid or reduce this problem? 

Racism has existed throughout the history and present too. but we also know that racism is one of the problems that influences other problems.  how about we reduce that and make our world a better place for everyone.
well this is all our own imagination.
AHAAAA!

Imagination ... this is what we all do ? think! create ideas? wonder?
thats all we have to do . and bring out the positive thoughts and ideas to overcome these problems.
the positive thoughts could be unity, cooperation , freedom,  equality of gender and so on.

Imagine if there was unity and cooperation  among different races , and every individual had their own freedom . to do anything , to go anywhere. and not to abide by the rules that are set by the nature.

well , we are purely the decision holder here.

 Description  and Explanation of my video.
 My video is a stop motion video.its an awareness message, to  make  people think more about whats happening around us and what would happen if things were different.

and i have used metaphors and reality to present.


MATERIALS AND TOOLS
Minimalism is the main code here.  so i decided to reuse cardboard boxes to make my props. and outlined it with a black marker to give it more of aesthetic value and simplicity.
 a phone camera and  a tripod for shooting this video.

However i was inspired by these particular pictures . which made use the same cardboard boxes idea in my video.

this is a picture of a room which was decorated using cardboard boxes for recycling purposes.











From the first second of my video its all imagination.
i have used my wall to shoot this video.  and therefore i named it '' MY WALL OF IMAGE-NATION ''
which means my wall of different images which forms a nation of racism.

but however IMAGINATION actually means something else.  and using this imagination we can do alot of things as an individual.  i just did, by imagining if there was unity.

About presenting Racism . I thought of using something else which is not obvious.  which has groups just like human.

Therefore i decided to use a metaphor . Whale and a Bird to represent different groups of people.

Just like the way one group of people believes that the group is less than humans because of several reasons . they decide to impose harm on them in anyway.

Just like that i represent the whale being part of one group and the bird being part of another group.

Also that i have used a unicorn to represent IMAGINATION.
unicorns are already things that we dont know if there is any possibility to exist. Just like that unity is an intangible thing , we know it is there when we feel it. we cant touch it or anything.

all in all, if everyone could look at life with different perspective. there would be much fewer problems in the world. '' A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step''  so lets begin now .

This is my draft, or a general idea of my props and how it would look like .

so these are some of my props which i used for my video. 

a short story line behind my video.

its a bright sunny day , like usual the bird flying across the ocean . and a whale comes out and eats it.   

BUT 

what if it was like that ?

what if  there was unity ? cooperation? 

 what if these birds could swim? 

what if these whales could fly ?

would things be different? and better? 

this is totally upto us to decide. 

the best solution is unity . colour , language, birthplace and all those factors that lead to racism shouldnt matter at all.  when we are one human race. 

problems i encountered during the making of the video

since my lens broke, i couldnt use any camera to shoot this.but that wasnt the end of the world.  so i used my phone to shoot the video . and i had to be really careful in balancing it on a tripod. 

since im a windows user , i tried something different.  i used mac to edit my video. 

and not to forget its the first time im trying a stop motion video and that too without any additional help or assistance. 

My learning outcomes

This activity actually made me come out of my comfort zone and experience new things.  independence and  time management is  very important. 

 things  i could improve would be my quality of my video, the exposure and lighting. 

but over all. i had fun and learnt new things during the process of making this video.

Tioman - land of chaos *

          Well,  trips ! nothing can be better than that . Trip to tioman was super great,  apart from the learning outcomes we had an epic time.  also understood different cultures how  people interact with each other , what are the differences between the people of the city and the islanders.  activities  done during the trip was fun  and  interesting .  learnt  how cooperation  among the team members is important how we need to work smart and more.  apart from that , amazing crystal clear water and beautiful shades of blues in the ocean made the trip even more exciting not forgetting the amazing sunsets and beautiful school of fish at the marine park , great experience during snorkeling , seeing extraordinary corals was just refreshing.
what a trip !!!

one of the interesting experience during this trip was meeting a group of musicians who played uncommon instruments calling it experimental music.   surprising  part was they had just met twenty mins ago and they combined their skills and played amazing tunes by the roadside.  it even made the sea breeze move in a better motion and the whole environment changed with their tunes.

Hero , anti hero archetype and villain

                       HERO ARCHETYPE , ANTI- ARCHETYPE AND VILLAIN 

What are these figures?  whats the first thing comes into our minds when we                                 hear heroes? villain?

 

this is what we think of ? 

YES they are heroes . 

but what is Hero Archetype? 

before i explain that  ,  let me explain what ''archetype'' means .

Archetype is basically recurring patterns of images, situations or symbols found in mythology , art , religions and dreams of cultures around the world .

So  Hero Archetype is generally a person who has certain traits for instance : unusual birth , traumatic events , special weapon, super natural help and so on . 

when we say unusual birth here we mean , born in certain circumstances, traumatic events where the hero's life changes forever , special weapon which  the hero is the only one to wield  and supernatural help is basically spiritual  guidance. 

taking the example of Lion King

Simba is the hero , his life changes after a traumatic incident where he loses his father and also his spiritual guidance is Rafiki  who tells him to go back to pridelands to save the community from starvation.

ANTI - HERO ARCHETYPE 

These are protagonist who lacks the attributes that mark the heroic spirit , these lacking qualities can be  moral values and so on. 

for instance : THE HUNGER GAMES 

we have Katniss Everdeen  , she is a protagonist but still doesnt care for rights of the others. she is willing to kill others including the innocents if it means succeeding .

VILLAIN 

is the evil , bad character in every story , drama or movie. he or she is basically an antagonist . who is devoted to wickedness . who goes against the heroes.  but this is not always , sometimes villains appear to be the '' good guy'' well thats in rare cases.

for instance :  The Spider Man 

The GREEN GOBLIN 

is originally a scientist , but due to some experimentation which gave him super powers  he went insane and dedicated his life in destroying spiderman's life.

The '' ISSUE''

The big issue. 

What are issues in this world ?

-  

Our world is full of problems, and everyday we try to tackle them and survive. 

there are several issues in this world and these are. : 

- Terrorism/ security problems. 

-immigration/  illegal aliens 
- economy 
-over population 
- pollution 

-crimes

There are several  ways in which we can tackle these issues : 

- law enforcement 

-Budget planning - tightening the financial belt 

-  sex education and good family planning information 

- install machines to avoid and control pollution 

- Better law and security systems.

for example : rapist 

Rapist are the most cruel humans i can say existing on this  earth. 

 they are ruthless and have no emotional feelings on what they do . 

if i were in a situation where i was the victim or a friend of mine was the victim , i would first do is try  my best to run and escape.  or use any materials that i have to protect myself. 

strengths and limitations 

- teach women self defense 

- law enforcement . strict punishments to the rapists

- raped women should be allowed to live a normal life

QUESTION 2 

My issue? 

- Trust 

-  studies stress

- time management 

- family 

- cope up peer pressure 

these personal issues can be playing a very important role in shaping ones life,  makes a person what he or she is, as they find their way to fight with these issues in order to live . 

- for trust - i follow this principle ''  believe everything , trust nothing ''  

- studies , ''  no one is a genius,  its always 99% of hardwork and 1% genius that everyone is born with ''

-time - it runs , dont walk ! what are trainers made for ? start running too.! 

- family - we love them , continue doing it. 

- coping up with the peer pressure - no matter who you hang out with , what u choose to be is what you are. 

These are a few ways to rectify some issues that most of us undergo in our daily lives . 

Robinhood - the vigilante

                                                             ROBIN HOOD

I chose to talk about the vigilante -  Robin Hood , because i think  he is '' real'' . He existed and he actually influenced his surroundings , history and many urban legends. till date  the majority knows about Robin Hood and his doings.  

In brief, Robin Hood was a vigilante in his time . Around the 19th century , there were classes between the rich and poor , the poor were forced to pay taxes to the sheriff  in order to live there . and Robin hood was known for '' robbing the rich and giving the money to the poor'' . Robin Hood worked with his fellow men.   

He had outstanding archery skills.  so we can say his powers were his arhcery skills which is realistic. he brought lots of change to the society , finally the poor were not over ruled .

however we need to have vigilante  like him , in order to maintain equality in our community, which may not be done by the government or any other official or legal body .

Why do we need VIGILANTES ?

VIGILANTES

Vigilante is an individual or group who undertakes law enforcement without any legal authority .
examples such as superheroes .

These vigilantes typically see government as ineffective in enforcing the law, and such individuals often presume to justify their actions as fulfillment of the wishes of '' the community''


we can say there are two types of vigilantes, some are ''good'' and some are ''bad''

 when i say good, they are helpful and they do everything to protect the society without any expectations , however when we talk about the '' bad '' here i dont mean they are villains ,  they protect and do the same thing , but they want something else in return , maybe publicity , want to make money where rich investors invest money for them . and their ways of serving the public are various , such as physically , verbally or sometimes to an extent of killing.
however , no one is monitoring them . so we dont really know what they are doing is right or not .


but why do we need them ?

there are various reasons ,

we need them because they connect the society to the government , there are times when the government dont see what are the society's '' needs ''  , here comes the role of a vigilante who puts everything on the table.

we also need them , because they enforce law , when the government is ineffective .  they play the role of cops and government in general. when the police is late respond to attacks or assaults on people  the vigilante who are closer to the crime scene at that time might prevent the crime to take place and save the person's life.  and in that situation a quick response is the key to save the person's life.


peace ,  sometimes they help in maintaining peace in the streets at night  when the crime rate is generally higher .


so to conclude,  we do need vigilantes because they are helpful and they maintain the safety and people somehow feel secure when they are around .

movie analysis - Hotel Transylvania

                               METAPHOR ------>   MONSTERDOM VS HUMANDOM

Hotel transylvania is full of lines with the double meaning elasticity to serve the film's flexible metaphor , equating monsterdom with "'US' .  There are several metaphors used in this movie , however looking into a few , for instance we see ''  are these monsters going to kill me ?'' a quivering jonathan asks the Count . '' Not as long as they think you are a monster '' thats kind of racist .''

or if  we look at this , ''  Mavis ( the dracula's daughter )  could never be with someone of his kind .''  the dracula says that while his in a hot jaccuzzi with his fellows.

 Also if we look at when the dracula  fights for his daughter's happiness , where he gets a glimpse of   twilight '' This is how they represent us ?''   

In brief ,  Segregation is seen in this movie, xenophobia . there is this strong hatred for a certain community because of one reason . shows how one community is going against the other. how they isolate themselves and also do not wish any outsiders to come near to where they live.  but when an outsider ( the human as shown in the movie) walks in their neighbourhood the dracula gets panicked and wants him to leave straight away. 

However the drac figures out that the human isnt harmful as he thought , and he lets him stay for his daughter's birthday party , where he gets close to his daughter and also  the other monsters that are there. eventually , things take a turn , truth is spilled out. 

This is another century , different people, new thinking , new beliefs . but the drac doesnt know that , and thats why he says '' its taking my soul away'' when the young guy plugs earphones on him and plays a song.

To put it in short,  one experience doesnt mean everything will be the same all the time. things change  , people change accordingly .
